Derailing the move to ban bikes on trains

Dear Fellow Cyclists,
Both from outside the club, and from within, there have been calls to protest about a plan to ban e-bikes on NSW suburban and intercity trains. Advice from those experienced in writing lobbying letters is that: the more letters, then a positive response is the more likely outcome.

The proposal is that you each write to your respective local member, copying other local members whose electorates we ride through. Thanks to Peter and Denise Aubourg, those addresses are attached.
Peter and Denise working with Sam Garrett-Jones have produced a template letter which you can send as is, or you can modify to suit your own situation. Click on Save to download to your computer for editing.

In addition to these letters, in preparation are more detailed letters from the club, not only to the same local members but also to the NSW Minister for Transport and Federal politicians in our area. Copies of these letters will be sent to you when finalised in the next couple of days. Peter and Denise also created letters to MPs from leaders. A big shout out to Denise and Peter.
Taking our bikes on trains adds variation and interest to our programme. Being able to catch trains to or from our activities now happens on almost every ride. It is an integral part of what we do, easier than loading on a bike rack, or in the boot and money-saving too. Please help us campaign to maintain this benefit.
