The pushback from angry cyclists to the State Government appears to have been so huge that the government has had to resort to another way to measure it.
They have asked anyone with an opinion to complete a new survey. Click on the link here.
You may have already written a letter to your local MP. Thank you. Sorry to take up your time, but as well, could you please complete the survey. The feedback from State MP’s offices, especially Ryan Park and to a lesser extent, Paul Scully is that the complaints are loud and numerous. Sam & I attended a cycling infrastructure planning forum at Wollongong Council last night. Council is emphatically in support to derail the ban.
So far there has been a club submission to the 4 state members between Helensburgh and Shellharbour. Kiama currently does not have an MP. Additionally, there has been a letter sent to all Federal MPs in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven connecting the dire State situation with the lack of leadership at federal level.
Rather than me overload you with reading, these submissions are available. What also may be of interest is a well written chronology of where the Federals misread the effects of their complacency. Please email me if you wish to read any or all of these 3 documents. johngroom1@gmail.com
If you are looking for wording to go into the survey “comments” box, Sam’s submission is very useful. He would happily share it. Just text him – see Members List. Denise was a great help in introducing me to AI to help make the club’s submissions more readable. Peter & Denise have very effective (and briefer) scripts to follow.
Happy survey completing, and thank you.
John
