Welcome to 2026! Hoping this year is a time of fun and companionship for all Ramblers.
The fun will continue throughout the year and so the committee wishes to draw your attention to an activity planned by Helen Wilson in August. She is calling for expressions of interest in a week long Wet Tropics World Heritage Area exploration near Cairns. Expressions of interest need to be in by 9th January. See the Activities Program for further details.
National Parks Survey for Local National Parks and Reserves
An important notice, especially for the walkers, is that NSW National Parks has put out a survey for the Draft Management Plan for Budderoo and Macquarie Pass NP, Barren Grounds and Robertson Nature Reserves and Macquarie Pass State Conservation Area.
The email from NSW NP states –
“The draft plan of management is supported by draft precinct plans that provide additional information on proposals at 3 key visitor destinations in the park, namely Carrington Falls, Minnamurra Rainforest and Macquarie Pass.
The draft plan of management and draft precinct plans are available at www.environment.nsw.gov.au/get-involved/have-your-say
or at the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre, 345 Minnamurra Falls Road, Jamberoo, or at the Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre, 1301 Nowra Road, Fitzroy Falls.
Clubs and individuals are encouraged to provide feedback on the draft plan. Submissions must be lodged with NPWS before 5pm on Monday 9 February 2026. Submissions must be in written form and lodged via:
