Burning Palms Loop walk, RNP 1 July 2023
Surf was up preventing side trip to Figure 8 pools
Morning tea break
Inside the Palm Jungle
This 8.2 km walk (398m rise) explores a variety of environments through the Royal National Park. From the old Garawarra farm, the walk heads along the Squeeze Way then down a ridge to Burning Palms. There is an optional side trip out to Figure Eight pools. Burning Palms offers a nice beach and a great place to rest. From the beach the walk heads back up to Garawarra via an open grassy ridge, then through a nice shady forest track. It was a cool start to the walk, but enjoyable given the happy smiles and facial expressions. Great to see the work underway to improve the track quality. Unfortunately no whales sighted on this trip.
End of a lovely day's scenic walk
