Day paddles on lakes and rivers in the area. Led by local paddler John Thorn; organised by Helen.  Joint activity with NPA.  Based at camp site.  Day paddles 21/9 to 27/9, plus rest day. Group 1 – Arrive Mon 5th Nov, depart Sat 10th.  These dates for those who have not been on the trip before or it’s a long time since you’ve been – the usual series of walks. It’s the 21st anniversary trip to the western slopes of the Snowy Mts & northern Kosciuszko NP. Camp or cabin at caravan park. Day walks and exploring the region while learning about Snowy Hydro Scheme, Hume & Hovell and the impact of wild horses. Own transport or find a buddy. Will be some dirt road driving to walks. 12 days paddling the full length of the Edwards River Camping out of the kayaks/canoes (200km). The Edwards River is an anabranch of the Murray River from Picnic Point to 60km downstream of Swan Hill.  There will be  number of irrigation weirs to portage.
