Park at the bottom of Macquarie Pass.  Follow the rivulet up the pass and find as many waterfalls as possible. Some off track on return to reach the cascades on the Northern side.  Down the cascades to complete the circuit. Some scrambling and cliff edges. Normal water levels can avoid wet feet.80 to 460m and then back down again.  Horizontal distance about 13k. Guestimate equivalent closer to 20k if it was flat – but it would not be interesting if it was!

Starting at Audley Weir we will ride south along Lady Carrington Drive to Sir Bertram Stevens Drive intersection and return. All dirt trail surface, with some rocky gravelly sections – ie appropriate tyres with sufficient tread required. Late coffee or lunch available at Audley Weir Café or alternatively, BYO and enjoy in the adjacent picnic area. There is the possibility to check out some other nearby trails in the afternoon.

Cost: $12 vehicle day pass / park entry fee payable at Audley Weir Visitors Centre.

The walk starts at Wattle Ridge near Hill Top. The walk consists of fire trail and bush track. We walk to Ahearn’s Lookout and return.

To register you should be capable of –

  1.  Walking 13 Km on rough bush tracks and fire trails.
  2.  Bending under or climbing over one or two fallen trees.
  3. Walking through very shallow water.

Wattle Ridge is 75 km from the Wollongong CBD. The walk enters the Nattai National Park wilderness area. The area was burnt in 2019. The lookout has spectacular views to Russells Needle, Mt Jellore and the Nattai River.

A 2 night adventure in the northern Budawangs (Morton NP). It’s been a few years since we’ve visited, now the fires have changed the landscape so let’s go and investigate. Exact route will depend on sections of the park open and safe by the dates of the trip plus we need to manage the unexploded ordnance ‘red and blue zones’ guidelines, Styles Creek via Newhaven Gap would be the ideal destination. Tents and fuel stoves will need to be carried. (bad weather alternate date is Mon 17th )

Return to forgotten tracks, steps, obscure lookout, cave,  secluded creeks and all that real estate speak.

Explore the gorge below the obvious 2 falls to find more waterfalls and the gorge.  Leader has been there recently.

Return via the main falls track involving a crossing of the creek which may not be possible depending on water levels and abilities.  We may have to return up the western route if we decide not to get our feet wet.
