Non-members are welcome to attend two one-day activities before joining, but must contact the leader to discuss the activity and register.

Mon 09 Dec, 2019 Cycle: The Southern Christmas Bike ride, Lake Illawarra Kiosk to Killalea and return
All members and friends invited to join bike riders for morning coffee at Killalea Cafe at 9.30am – 11am. The ride is mostly on shared pathways and quiet streets with coastal views and streets through Shellcove. There is one hill. Its Christmas so decorate yourself and your bike. There are prizes and fruit cake to have with coffee. Gold coin donation appreciated.

Cycle from Skiway Park alongside the lake and across the bridge to Windang Surf Club. Then onto Warrawong and through Berkeley to Hooka Point with a brief stop at the bird hide. Return along the same route, making a detour via Primbee. Coffee at Boonerah Point.

CHRISTMAS RIDE !! HOW ABOUT SOME BIKE DECORATIONS??
This is a leisurely, friendly cycle and we ride almost entirely along the coastal bike track with just a few quiet suburban streets to cross. Cyclists who haven’t ridden for a while or intending members who may want to experience a Rambler activity and meet some members are most welcome to join us. This is our Christmas ride so we may decide to have coffee and cake, or even an early lunch at the Thirroul Beach cafe instead of the usual Bulli Beach Cafe. We’ll decide on the day, depending on the weather.

Wed 08 Jan, 2020 Paddle: Penrith White Water Stadium, Colo River, Nepean River
3 days, camping at a beautiful location at Upper Colo Reserve.
Day one meet at White water Stadium for a fun rafting adventure. Two night camping at Upper Colo Reserve. Day two paddling the Colo River from the reserve to Putty Road or Putty Road to Hawkesbury junction. (Will depend upon water levels) Day 3 a paddle on the Nepean River. Possibly up into the Nepean Gorge. If water levels are high enough may change and paddle from Penrith to Wallacia low level crossing.
Limit 12 and joint with another club.

Commence our walk at Byarong Park then walk along Mt Keira Ring track to Mt Keira Road.
Continue up many steep stairs to enjoy our walk along a well defined track through the beautiful peaceful rainforest. Return to Byarong Park.

How about a Lovely Walk from Byarong park along the well established Rainforest trail to The Mt Keira Scout Camp. Here we will meet up with Leanne the caretaker who is passionate about preserving this wonderful place. For $6 a head you can enjoy a Delicious Devonshire Tea /Coffee. Leanne has catered for groups up to 80 people, so …if you enjoy Scones come along !

Walk the “Grand Pacific Walk” to Stanwell Park beach café for morning tea or bring your own, then walk 15 mins up the hill to Stanwell Park station to catch the 11:34 train heading south. Walking on paths and some beach. Couple of steady hills. If trackwork that day call leader for updated plan.

An easy train ride to Circular Quay followed by enjoyable ferry ride to Manly. The 30k ride after that is with very gentle hills and 1 hill the ebikers will use to justify their purchase. Morning Tea by a beach. Lunch by the lagoon. An enjoyable day out.

Car camp (or cabin) with day walks in East Gippsland Victoria, mainly in Croajingolong NP. This coastal NP offers a mix of wilderness and less wild walking experiences. We will explore a variety of walks in the Mallacoota area. Contact leader for information pack. Joint activity with NPA – joint limit applies.
Wed 18 Mar, 2020 Trip Away: Peddling and Paddling on the Central Coast (The Entrance)

18th to 30th March 2020. Dates include to drive to and from the Entrance. Based at the Entrance a combined paddling and cycling trip. 4 1/2 days peddling, 4 1/2 days paddling. Camping on the beach at Toowoon Bay. Caravan, cabin or camp.
Limit 12. Suitable for non active partners as its a beautiful location. First preference will be for participant who wish to both peddle and paddle.

Wed 08 Apr, 2020 Walk: Wedderburn: Exploring the Western Dharawal
3 short walks. O’Hares Creek Lookout (Grade 2), Minerva Lookout and Pool (Grade 3) Jingga Pool (Grade 3+). Something for everyone. Choose, 1 or 2 or the lot. Minerva Pool is magnificent but swimming is restricted to ladies only. Jingga is open to all swimmers. Getting to the Jingga pools is via a partly steep, no longer used access road of mainly cricket ball sized stones. In just over a kilometre there is a 120 meter altitude drop. One section of the park provides trailside rest chairs but only 1 toilet. May be late spring wildflowers. Morning tea and lunch in the park. Coffee at Appin after. Limit 16.

Trip from Kununarra to Broome supported by Kimberley Walking Tours. 18-30 June 2020. Camping, day walking, swimming, sight seeing. Mon 27 Jul, 2020 Trip Away: Cycle Rail Trails of Brisbane Valley and Kingaroy to Kilkivan
The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail runs from Ipswich to Yarraman and is the longest rail trail in Australia at 161km and there is short distance between it and the Kingaroy to Kilkivan Rail Trail.
Cycling on Rail Trails some only recently opened through forests, grass trees and beautiful countryside and villages. 8 days including 2 non cycling/relocating days.
Mountain bike or hybrid required. Most tracks dirt or gravel not suitable for road bike.
We will use local shuttle bus and trailer to transport cyclists and bicycles on some sectors to avoid backtracking.

Sun 09 Aug, 2020 Trip Away: Combined Cycling and Paddling at Noosa and Northern Brisbane

9th August to 28th August. Camping at two locations Tewantin and Scarborough. At both locations there will be a combination of paddles and bike rides. This trip continues on from Jill Hawkes’ Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Trip.
Limit of 12 with preference given to those who intend cycling and paddling, and wish to complete the Noosa and Northern Brisbane parts of the trip. Trip is combined with another club and bookings need to made early to secure a vacancy at Tewantin. Trip is also suitable for non participating partners.
