We start at the end of the Yalwal Road with a visit to the disused cemetery before the steep ascent up the Yarramunmun Fire Trail (250m height gain in roughly 2km all on track before heading to rocky summit of Yalwal Trig. (Numerous rock carvings relating to the goldmines).  A short, steep but safe descent (200m off-track – genuine grade 4 territory) to an overgrown track which is followed to the mine shaft where micro bats live.  We then visit a unique open cast mine for lunch with many opportunities to explore.  Finally we’ll head out to a stamper which lies on the bank of the flooded Danjera Creek before returning to the vehicles. Many ups and Downs.

There is a chance that the micro bat cave entrance will be flooded (ankle deep) so river shoes/crocs may be a good idea as well as a head torch.
