Sunday 26 July is National Tree Day and to celebrate this, we are putting on a special walk at Minnamurra Rainforest with 2 members acting as guides and educators about the geology, history and flora of this beautiful spot. Thankyou to Pam Hayes and Roger Lyle.

Can you please register for this walk with the leader: Julie McDonald (see Members List). Can you also indicate if you live north of Wollongong and can car pool to the meeting area (the overflow Car Park on the Corner of Jamberoo Mountain Rd and Minnamurra Falls Rd).

We will meet at this car park between 8.30-8.45am and organise to transport walkers to the entry in cars with national park stickers. The Rainforest Loop Walk is a  1.6 km mostly flat, elevated boardwalk circuit crossing suspension bridges over the Minnamurra Rivulet. There is an optional steep climb to the upper waterfall (Minnamurra Falls Walk, which is an extra 2.6km return and takes 1.5–2 hours). This will test lungs and calves, but the reward is well worth the effort. Bring morning tea which we will have on the picnic tables after the walk.

Looking forward to seeing you at the car park for what will be an educative and special walk.
