President’s Report

The 2025 – 26 Year has been a mix of great weather and days of appalling, cold wind. Spring is here now! I must admit that winter did not seem so cold or wet this year and as I walked, I have noticed how dry the land has become. This has not stopped The Ramblers from enjoying many activities!  I want to thank all our leaders for doing such a great job. Without them we would have no club! Special thanks to those who put on trips away which require extra organisation. Many Ramblers have enjoyed these special activities.

Thanks to all those who came to our Social Day. I enjoyed seeing everyone and the hats were great! This month we have the AGM and the Christmas party is at the end of year. We hope to put on more social activities next year.

A great moment for the club came when John Groom’s nomination of Pam Robinson for the Chardon Award was accepted by Bushwalking NSW. You can read the citation in the current newsletter.

Not such great news is that our PLBs will be out of date by the end of September. Although members of the committee have tried to find grants that would help us purchase new ones, we were not successful. The club will purchase one new one for the next few months and will decide if we need any more in the future.

I want to thank the committee for being such a great group of volunteers and thanks for all your support during my presidency. I especially want to thank Penny for all her work on the website upgrade and for stepping into other roles when other committee members have been away.

I am looking forward to another great year full of wonderful activities.
