2019 Summer Newsletter

            From the President

We have a varied new Summer Program for you including walking, cycling and paddling trips away next year in March, June and July.  There are a few gaps in the program and we encourage everyone to read through the program and fill those gaps if possible.  It looks like being a hot summer judging by the way Spring has arrived.  Some shorter walks and those with sea breezes would be appreciated by our members I’m sure.

A social lunch is planned in this program on 21st February at Balgownie Collegians Club.  Contact Dave Currie to register.

43 members attended the AGM held in the Rhododendron Gardens on 12 October and enjoyed a pleasant morning catching up with other members and taking part in the two walks on offer.

A new committee was elected :

President :                                          Ros Tierney

Secretary                                            Robyn Sim

Treasurer                                            Peter Jack

Program Manager                           Stuart Almond

Website Manager                           Penny Howes

Newsletter Editor                            Pam Hayes

Publicity Officer                               Russell Verdon

Activities Recorder                          Phil Prentice

There were no nominations for the position of Training and Special Interest Coordinator.  If anyone would like to take up a position on committee and fill that position please contact any committee member.

The Ramblers Christmas Party is approaching and I would remind everyone that registrations for the party need to be made by Wednesday 27 November.  Details are in the Spring newsletter.

Hardcopy newsletter members are reminded that as per the notification sent out last month this will be the last one produced containing the full activity program.  In future the activities will only be available online.

Wishing everyone a very happy Christmas and safe travelling over the holiday period.
