Spring 2020 Newsletter

FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hi everyone, and welcome to the Spring 2020 Newsletter.  I would like to thank all the leaders who have come back on board and are regularly putting in their activities.  The Spring program of activities can be found online, and we encourage members to check regularly as more activities are added from time to time.  We still have a limit on numbers and walks and paddles require registration.  It’s a good idea to register your interest in an activity as soon as you can because of the limit on numbers.  If you find later that you are unable to participate please advise the Leader asap, so that someone can take your place.

The Club AGM is fast approaching on 19th September.  We still plan to hold it in the Rhododendron Gardens at Mt Pleasant but due to the necessity to restrict numbers in line with the Government’s Covid-19 regulations there will be a limit of 20 and it will be by registration only.  We ask that members bring their own morning tea and as the gardens do not have hot water available you will need to bring a thermos.   We have nominations for all the committee positions, but any member may put their hand up for one of the committee positions if they so wish.  Nominations must be received by Friday 11th September. Please see the notice regarding the AGM in this Newsletter.

It is with regret that the committee has come to the decision to cancel the Christmas Party this year.  After speaking with the Warilla Bowling Club where we held the party last year, we have come to the conclusion that it would not be possible to hold the sort of party that the Ramblers have become used to and enjoyed in the past.  We have been advised that there would be restricted movement between tables and walking around to socialise is not allowed.

On a brighter note we should soon be enjoying some beautiful warm Spring weather in which to enjoy the program of activities already posted on the webpage.

Stay well, and look after each other in these difficult times.

Ros Tierney
